Islamabad: Today marks the 25th anniversary of the martyrdom of Havildar Lalak Jan Shaheed, Nishan Haider, celebrated across Pakistan with profound respect and veneration. Religious ceremonies including Quran khawani and prayers were held in mosques nationwide, paying tribute to the bravery and ultimate sacrifice of Havildar Lalak Jan.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Armed Forces of Pakistan, along with the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and Services Chiefs, honored the memory of Havildar Lalak Jan. Inter Services Public Relations highlighted that Havildar Lalak Jan exhibited extraordinary courage and selflessness during the Kargil conflict, which eventually led to his supreme sacrifice.
Religious scholars throughout the country praised Havildar Lalak Jan’s heroic deeds and stressed the importance of recognizing the sacrifices made by such martyrs for national security. They affirmed that the entire nation owes a profound debt of gratitude to its martyrs. The highest military honor, Nishan-e-Haider, was posthumously awarded to Lalak Jan for his valor, which continues to inspire soldiers and citizens alike.
