National Police Martyrs’ Day Observed Across Pakistan to Honor Fallen Officers

Islamabad: National Police Martyrs’ Day is being observed today throughout Pakistan, recognizing the sacrifices made by police officers and showing solidarity with their families. The day features various events, including the main function in Peshawar, aimed at honoring the brave men and women of the police force who have laid down their lives for peace and security in the nation.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, special functions and blood donation camps are organized across the country to pay tribute to the policemen. Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, in her message, expressed deep respect for the police martyrs and reiterated the Punjab government’s commitment to the welfare of their families. She emphasized that honoring the martyrs is a priority and that there will be no compromise in this regard.

In Peshawar, Senior Superintendent of Police Operations Kashif Zulfiqar and Director of Public Relations Department of KP Police, Shahzada Kokab Farooq, announced that Police Martyrs’ Day would be commemorated with full dignity. They highlighted the significant number of police officers, including those up to the rank of Additional IGP, who have been martyred over the last two decades, particularly in the war against terror.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor and Chief Minister also issued statements, with the Governor affirming that the nation will never forget the police force’s dedication to protecting the motherland. Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur praised the spirit of the police force and promised governmental support to enhance their efficiency in duty performance.
