Sanghar: Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has announced the commencement of production at the Baloch-2 exploratory well in the Sinjhoro block of Sanghar district, marking a significant step in Pakistan’s efforts to bolster national energy security.
According to Oil and Gas Development Company Limited, the Baloch-2 well, drilled to a depth of 3,920 meters, is now producing 350 barrels of oil and 5 million standard cubic feet of gas per day. The production is linked to the Sinjhoro Processing Plant and is contributing to the network of Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL). The successful exploration and subsequent production were made possible by OGDCL’s in-house capabilities in delineating, drilling, and testing the well structure.
This project is a collaborative effort, with OGDCL holding a 76% working interest, Orient Petroleum Inc. owning 19%, and Government Holdings Private Limited (GHPL) holding the remaining 5%. The company remains committed to accelerating exploration and production activities to enhance the sustainable development of Pakistan’s energy resources.
