OGRA Announces Adjustment in RLNG Prices for August 2024

Islamabad: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has released the adjusted rates for Re-gasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) for August 2024, following the policy guidelines provided by the Federal Government. The new prices show a slight increase from the previous month, reflecting changes in the global energy market.

According to Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority, the adjusted prices effective from August 1, 2024, are set as follows: for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd (SNGPL), the transmission price per million British thermal units (MMBtu) will be $13.0603 and the distribution price will be $14.0065. For Sui Southern Gas Company Ltd (SSGCL), the transmission price will be $11.8961 with a distribution price of $13.5773. This marks an increase of approximately 3% from July’s prices, which is attributed primarily to the rise in DES (Delivered Ex-Ship) prices.

The detailed notification of these changes is available on OGRA’s official website. This update comes as part of OGRA’s monthly review process, aimed at aligning domestic prices with international market conditions and ensuring the financial sustainability of gas utilities.
