Baku: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the critical need for collaboration with international partners, including the Czech Republic, to effectively combat climate change, promote green energy, and support sustainable development goals. He engaged in discussions with Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala on the sidelines of the World Leaders Climate Action Summit in Baku.
According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to advancing environmental sustainability and climate resilience, despite being one of the nations most affected by climate change. The meeting underscored the longstanding and multifaceted relations between Pakistan and the Czech Republic, covering both bilateral and multilateral domains.
The leaders explored opportunities for enhanced cooperation, particularly focusing on economic development and addressing shared regional and global challenges. They emphasized the importance of expanding trade and investment ties to stimula
te economic growth and prosperity for both countries.
Prime Minister Sharif also highlighted Pakistan’s strategic location as a gateway to Central Asia, extending an invitation to Czech businesses to explore investment opportunities in sectors such as energy, technology, and manufacturing. He reiterated that climate change is a pressing global issue that requires a concerted international effort.
