Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with his Kazakh counterpart, Mr. Olzhas Bektenov, on the margins of the SCO Council of Heads of Government (CHG) Meeting today in Islamabad. The leaders discussed enhancing trade, investment, and regional connectivity under the SCO framework.
According to Press Information Department, Prime Minister Sharif welcomed Kazakhstan’s participation and underscored Pakistan’s dedication to advancing the SCO’s objectives, reflecting on his visit to Astana for the SCO Council of Heads of State Meeting in July. He praised Kazakhstan’s role in fostering SCO cooperation and stressed the importance of regular high-level bilateral engagements, including institutional meetings on trade and agriculture. Mr. Bektenov commended Pakistan’s role in organizing the SCO Summit and confirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to strengthening ties with Pakistan to boost regional trade and connectivity. Both leaders agreed to collaborate towards unlocking the full trade potential between their nations.
