Doha: Qatar's Minister of State on Foreign Trade and Chairman of the Pak-Qatar Joint Business Taskforce, Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Sayed, met with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in Doha today. The meeting focused on reviewing bilateral trade and economic cooperation, with both parties expressing satisfaction over the growing momentum in Pakistan-Qatar relations.
According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the significance of enhancing bilateral trade volumes and diversifying Pakistan's exports to Qatar. He highlighted the potential for Pakistani exports in agricultural products, food items, and value-added goods. Both sides also discussed the follow-up to the 6th Session of the Pakistan-Qatar Joint Ministerial Commission, reaffirming their commitment to implementing the agreed decisions.
The Prime Minister underscored Pakistan's investment-friendly reforms and the role of the Special Investment Facilitation Council in promoting foreign investment. Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Sayed reiterated Qatar's interest in expanding economic cooperation and strengthening private-sector and business linkages with Pakistan.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to convene a task force meeting within the month of Ramadan. This task force, comprising relevant officials from both countries, will discuss concrete investment proposals for Qatari investment in Pakistan. The discussions underscored a shared resolve to deepen trade, investment, and industrial collaboration between Pakistan and Qatar.
