Rawalpindi: Air Marshal RAUP Rajapaksa, Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force, met with General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman of Pakistan’s Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, at the Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi, during an official visit aimed at bolstering bilateral defense and security ties. Both officials underscored their nations’ shared commitment to enhancing collaboration in defense and regional security.
According to Inter Services Public Relations, General Mirza emphasized Pakistan’s dedication to its longstanding relationship with Sri Lanka, highlighting the mutual objective of strengthening defense partnerships. Air Marshal Rajapaksa commended the professionalism of Pakistan’s armed forces and their contributions to counter-terrorism efforts and regional stability.
Upon his arrival, Air Marshal Rajapaksa was received with a ceremonial Guard of Honour presented by a tri-services contingent.
