Pakistan Establishes Itself as Guarantor of Peace: NYT

Islamabad: Pakistan has established itself as a guarantor of peace by successfully mediating between the US and Iran.

According to Radio Pakistan, senior leadership of Pakistan has played a key role in maintaining the ceasefire and facilitating negotiations between the United States and Iran. This crucial intervention has not only helped to ease tensions but also positioned Pakistan as a significant player in international diplomacy.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that Pakistan incredibly conducted effective mediation. This acknowledgment from the United States underscores the trust placed in Pakistan’s diplomatic capabilities and its strategic importance in fostering dialogue between the two nations.

Pakistan’s former Ambassador to Iran, Asif Durrani, remarked that Iran does not trust any other country, making Pakistan the only viable channel for mediation. This unique position underscores the longstanding relationship and mutual understanding between Pakistan and Iran, which has now been leveraged to promote regional stability.

Singapore-based broadcaster Channel News Asia highlighted Pakistan’s importance, calling it a wake-up call for India. This development may prompt India to reassess its diplomatic strategies in the region, given Pakistan’s enhanced role as a mediator on the global stage.
