Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed Pakistan’s keen interest in elevating its economic relationship with Saudi Arabia into a mutually beneficial strategic economic partnership, in alignment with the vision of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He conveyed this ambition during a meeting with a Saudi business delegation led by Prince Mansour bin Mohammad Al Saud, Chairman of the Saudi-Pak Joint Business Council, in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister discussed various avenues to expand economic cooperation and investment between the two nations, emphasizing the longstanding brotherly ties shared by Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. During the meeting, he conveyed his respectful regards to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Shehbaz Sharif recalled Prince Mansour’s previous visits to Pakistan, expressing hope that the current visit would build upon earlier discussions and lead to the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements across multiple sectors. The Saudi delegation expressed interest in exploring investment opportunities in agriculture, ports, highways, airport outsourcing, real estate, energy, power distribution, and information technology.

The Prime Minister welcomed Saudi interest in these priority areas, highlighting the present moment as an opportune time for joint collaboration between the two countries in both government-to-government (G2G) and business-to-business (B2B) cooperation. Prince Mansour, in his remarks, thanked the Prime Minister for the warm reception and reiterated the Saudi government and business community’s ongoing interest in strengthening B2B engagement with Pakistan.

During their visit, the delegation is scheduled to meet with various senior government representatives and private-sector stakeholders in Pakistan. The meeting was attended by Federal Ministers Rana Tanveer Hussain, Musadik Malik, Jam Kamal Khan, Muhammad Aurangzeb, Ataullah Tarar, Junaid Anwar Chaudhury, Ali Pervaiz Malik, Sardar Awais Ahmed Leghari, and Muhammad Hanif Abbasi; Advisors Muhammad Ali and Haroon Akhtar Khan; Minister of State Bilal Azhar Kayani; SAPM Tariq Fatemi; and other senior government officials.
