Islamabad: Pakistan is actively seeking to develop a long-term, multidimensional partnership with Russia, with a strong focus on energy, defense, food security, and enhancing people-to-people contacts, announced Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the announcement came during a meeting between Chairman Gilani and Russian Ambassador Albert Khorev in Islamabad on Wednesday. Gilani expressed that Pakistan values its relationship with Russia and is eager to expand cooperation in various sectors including trade and economy.
The Chairman emphasized the significance of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening bilateral ties and bringing peoples of the two nations closer. He highlighted Pakistan’s rich agricultural resources and expressed interest in leveraging Russian expertise in agriculture to enhance productivity.
Ambassador Khorev reciprocated the sentiments, noting Russia’s extensive experience in agriculture and its readiness to support Pakistan with advanced technology to boost the sector.
