Pakistan Sees Renewed Investor Confidence: Khurram Schehzad

Islamabad: Pakistan is beginning to see a renewed wave of investor confidence, with domestic investors leading and global capital now following. This was stated by Finance Minister's Advisor Khurram Schehzad in a post on X.

According to Radio Pakistan, the country's 5G Spectrum Auction has concluded with around 500 million dollars in investment, signaling strong international interest in Pakistan's expanding digital economy. This development follows an earlier milestone in the country's investment landscape involving the 645 million dollars privatization of Pakistan International Airlines. It marked the largest recent commitment by domestic investors and signaled growing confidence in the country's reform trajectory.

The PIA transaction strengthens connectivity in aviation, while the 5G spectrum auction accelerates connectivity in the digital economy, enabling faster internet, technology innovation, and expanded digital services across Pakistan.

Khurram Schehzad highlighted that Jazz (VEON Group), one of the winning bidders in the auction, has announced plans to invest a further one billion dollars in Pakistan over the next three years to expand digital infrastructure and support the country's technology ecosystem.

These developments underline a re-emerging investment story for Pakistan, anchored by domestic confidence and increasingly reinforced by both new and existing global investors positioning for long-term growth.
