Pakistan thanks China for support
Islamabad: Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Masood Khan met with Mr. Zhang Zhijun, China’s Executive Vice Foreign Minister and Party Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this afternoon to brief him about the evolving situation after the 26th November NATO airstrikes at Pakistani check-posts and to thank the Chinese government for its solidarity with Pakistan, says a press release received here today from Beijing, China.
Yesterday the spokesman of China’s Foreign Office issued a statement expressing China’s “deep shock” over the incident. Later, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar telephoned her Chinese counterpart, Mr. Yang Jiechi, who also reiterated Beijing’s “firm support” to Pakistan.
