Pakistan to Observe Youm-e-Istehsal, Expressing Solidarity with Kashmir

Islamabad: Pakistan will observe Youm-e-Istehsal on Monday to express support for the Kashmiri people’s right to freedom and protest against India’s actions on August 5, 2019, which involved the revocation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the observance was confirmed during a special meeting led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad, focusing on the day’s significance and the nation’s preparations. Prime Minister Sharif is scheduled to visit Muzaffarabad on the day to deliver a policy statement and show solidarity with the Kashmiri community, condemning India’s unilateral and illegal measures.

The meeting highlighted that the international community, along with Kashmiris and Pakistanis, have rejected India’s actions. Activities planned for Youm-e-Istehsal include special walks, events across federal territories, all four provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, and broadcasts that will spotlight the Kashmir freedom movement, the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people, and the impact of Indian policies.
