Pakistan: Pakistan has reiterated its deep concern over the continuing hostilities in Ukraine and urged renewed momentum toward a negotiated settlement.
According to Radio Pakistan, delivering a statement at the UN Security Council, Pakistan's Counsellor Muhammad Kamran Taj stressed that dialogue remains the only viable path to a just, lasting, and mutually acceptable peace. He pointed out that continued hostilities add to the misery of affected populations, undermine trust, and complicate efforts aimed at ending the war. Furthermore, he emphasized that protecting civilians and civilian infrastructure is a fundamental obligation under international humanitarian law.
Muhammad Kamran Taj expressed hope that the current pause in talks between Russia and Ukraine would be temporary and that negotiations would resume at an early date. He also expressed Pakistan's readiness to support all efforts aimed at resolving the conflict peacefully in a comprehensive and durable manner.
