Islamabad: Pakistan was the first country to recognize UAE after it attained independence in 1971 and the last 40 years have seen the strengthening and diversification of bilateral ties and close friendship between the two countries.
This was stated by Consul General of Pakistan Mr. Tariq Iqbal Soomro while addressing the participants of ‘Solidarity Walk” organized by Pakistan Association Dubai to celebrate the auspicious occasion of the 40th National day of UAE, Dubai, says a press release received from Dubai here today.
He said that it is for the first time in the history of UAE that such an event has been organized by any community to share the Spirit of Union with their Emirati brethren .He said that on behalf of people of Pakistan and Pakistani Community living in UAE and on his own behalf, it is with immense pleasure that he extends heartiest and warmest greetings to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Ruler of Dubai and the Whole leadership of UAE, the Government and the brotherly people of the United Arab Emirates on this auspicious occasion.
The Consul General lauded the visionary leadership of the two countries and said that the time-honoured relations are based on the strong pillars of collaborative understanding and the foundation of these exemplary relations was laid by the founder of modern UAE, late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
He said that the people of UAE and Pakistan are connected through deep mutual love and brotherhood and share the same Islamic faith, celebrate the same festivals, adhere to the same social values and follow similar traditions.
He said that Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates have enjoyed close, cordial and cooperative relations in all the fields during the past 40 years and expressed confidence that these l relations between the two countries will be further strengthened and consolidated to the mutual benefit of both the countries in future.
The President, Pakistan Association Dubai, while addressing the gathering greeted the UAE leadership on its 40th National day and assured that Pakistani Community living in UAE will always work to further strengthen the bilateral relations and will play their role in the progress of their host country.
He said that these close fraternal relations between the two countries are blessed with deep-rooted cultural affinities, shared faith, as well as traditional and geographical proximity and identity that will be further strengthened and consolidated in the coming years.
Earlier, the Solidarity Walks that started from Pakistan Education Academy was attended by a very large gathering of Pakistani Community living in UAE chanting slogans “Pak-UAE Friendship Zindabad”, dancing, beating drums and raising Pakistan- UAE flags. Giant size flags of UAE and Pakistan were also carried by the school children.
The Solidarity Walk was also attended by large number of families, women, children and senior citizens. The National anthems of Pakistan and UAE were played in Pakistan Association, Dubai compound and in the end a cake cutting ceremony was also held.
The Consul General of Pakistan Mr. Tariq Iqbal Soomro along with the President Pakistan Association, Dubai senior officers of the Pakistan Consulate cut the cake in the presence of participants.
