Pakistani-Danish doctor receive Defence Minister Medal

Islamabad, February 13, 2013 (PPI-OT): Pakistani-Danish doctor, Sohail Asghar has been awarded the Defence Minister’s honorary medal for his extraordinary contribution to providing relief efforts during the 2010 floods in Pakistan. Dr. Sohail received the medal by the Danish Defence Minister, Mr. Nick Haekkerup at a special reception held at the Lifeguard Barracks in Copenhagen.

Dr. Sohail coordinated a network of Danish doctors of Pakistani origin to join the Danish Emergency Response team to lead the Emergency Field hospitals in Sindh . His efforts resulted in more than 150,000 people being given quality medical care over a duration of three months.
