PDMA Punjab Issues Heatwave Alert

Lahore: Provincial Disaster Management Authority of Punjab has issued a heatwave alert, warning of extreme temperatures across the province.

According to Radio Pakistan, a spokesman of the Authority stated that the temperature in Southern Punjab areas will remain six to eight degrees centigrade higher than usual, while in Upper Punjab areas, it will be four to six degrees centigrade above normal from Monday to the 18th of this month. He also highlighted a potential risk of ice melting in the Northern Areas due to the rising temperatures.

Meanwhile, the Relief Commissioner Punjab, Nabeel Javed, has directed the Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners to remain on alert. He urged the public, especially children, women, and elders, to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary activities outside their homes.
