PM Directs Swift Reforms for Pakistan Railways Modernization

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed to accelerate reform measures to transform Pakistan Railways into a modern, safe, and reliable transport system. He was talking to Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi who called on him in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister instructed the Minister for Railways to ensure the timely completion of ongoing railway projects and utilize all resources to provide the public with better, safer, and affordable traveling facilities. Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that the government is avoiding placing any additional burden on the public in light of the current economic conditions and stressed the importance of enhancing the rail system to increase revenue.

The Prime Minister expressed commitment to the public welfare agenda, assuring that the government will improve the performance of all departments to put the country on the path of development. The Minister for Railways briefed the Prime Minister on the operational matters of Pakistan Railways, stating that, considering public convenience in the current Gulf situation, there will be no increase in fares for any operational trains running across the country.
