Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has extended an invitation to parliamentary leaders and party heads to participate in an in-camera briefing scheduled for tomorrow, focusing on the evolving situation in the region. This announcement was made by Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar during a session on the floor of the National Assembly today.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Law Minister emphasized the government's commitment to addressing the latest regional developments. He highlighted the importance of setting aside political differences to collaboratively devise a common strategy moving forward, given the current circumstances.

The National Assembly engaged in discussions concerning the evolving regional situation, notably focusing on the martyrdom of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. During the debate, lawmakers condemned the attack on Iran and paid tribute to the sacrifices made by the Iranian leadership. They also expressed solidarity with the Iranian people and called for unity among Muslim countries to tackle challenges facing the Ummah.

Participants in the discussion included Aniqa Mehdi, Abdul Qadir Patel, Hameed Hussain, Aasia Ishaque Siddiqui, Sehar Kamran, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Syeda Shehla Raza, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Sanaullah Khan Mastikhel, Mir Ghulam Ali Talpur, Nisar Ahmad, and Shandana Gulzar.

In legislative developments, the House passed 'The Virtual Assets Bill, 2026,' aimed at establishing a regulatory authority for licensing, regulating, and supervising virtual assets and service providers. The bill was presented by Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry.

Additionally, Khushhal Khan Kakar was sworn in as a member of the National Assembly, with Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq administering the oath. The session has been adjourned to reconvene tomorrow at 2 p.m.
