Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has departed for the Kyrgyz Republic on a three-day official visit, responding to an invitation from President Sadyr Nurgozhoevich Zhaparov. During this significant visit, the Prime Minister will engage in a series of high-level meetings and events aimed at strengthening Pakistan's position and relations within the region.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister's itinerary includes participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Heads of State meeting and the SCO Plus Summit. A highlight of the visit will be Pakistan assuming the Chairmanship of the SCO Council of Heads of State for the following year. This role is expected to enhance Pakistan's influence and involvement in regional affairs.

In addition to his participation in the SCO activities, Prime Minister Sharif is scheduled to conduct bilateral meetings with leaders of the participating countries. He will also attend the opening ceremony of the World Nomad Games, an event showcasing cultural heritage, which is being held in Bishkek today.

A crucial aspect of the visit involves bilateral discussions with President Sadyr Zhaparov. The leaders of Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan will explore the entire spectrum of their bilateral relations. They aim to comprehensively review existing ties and explore ways to enhance cooperation in various sectors, including trade and investment, energy, regional connectivity, education, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges. This meeting is anticipated to set the stage for deeper collaboration and mutual benefits for both nations.
