Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has embarked on a three-day official visit to Saudi Arabia, accompanied by a high-level delegation. This delegation includes Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Deputy Prime Minister will join the delegation from Madinah Munawwarah following his brief stopover after attending the Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem in Jordan. During his visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to meet Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The discussions will focus on strengthening Pakistan-Saudi Arabia bilateral relations and exchanging views on regional and international developments of mutual interest.

In addition to diplomatic engagements, the Prime Minister will perform Umrah and pay respects at Roza-e-Rasool (Peace Be Upon Him) in Madinah Munawwarah. The Foreign Office spokesperson highlighted that, despite the backdrop of heightened tensions in the Gulf, the visit holds significance beyond immediate crises and short-term considerations.

The visit aims to further strengthen bilateral relations, deepen strategic cooperation, enhance coordination on regional and international issues of mutual interest, and reinforce multilateral cooperation.
