Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has once again invited the opposition to negotiations, emphasizing the importance of dialogue in resolving issues for economic development and democratic strengthening. Chairing a Federal Cabinet meeting in Islamabad, he reiterated the government's readiness for constructive talks and urged the opposition to decide when they are prepared to join the negotiating table. According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over an 18% increase in IT exports in July, highlighting the government's efforts to digitize governance and introduce digital technology across all sectors. He commended Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb for implementing a fixed tax scheme for retailers and directed the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to ensure retailers are not harassed. The Prime Minister also praised the Minister for Petroleum and his team for reducing diesel prices by thirty-two rupees per liter, calling it a positive development. Addressing the regional tensio ns in the Gulf and Strait of Hormuz, he stated that Pakistan is actively working towards de-escalation and regional stability, which is crucial for the nation's economic progress. The Federal Cabinet gave in-principle approval to the National Adolescent and Youth Policy, recommended by the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination. This policy aims to empower Pakistan's youth through a national framework focused on education, employment, inclusiveness, and the environment. To implement the policy, the Pakistan Youth Development Council and the Federal Adolescent and Youth Agency will be established. The Prime Minister instructed that Cabinet members' suggestions regarding the policy be incorporated.
