The committee on flood relief, constituted by the Prime Minister, visited Pakistan Maritime Security Agency Base at Keti Bander in Karachi.
The committee, led by Minister for Climate Change, Sherry Rehman and comprising other federal ministers and MNAs, was given briefing by the Base Commander and Deputy Commissioner.
Sherry Rehman appreciated the flood relief support provided by PMSA, particularly in the operation which resulted in recovery of lost fishermen.
Meanwhile, the death toll in flood stricken areas of Balochistan has risen to 164, including 43 women.
According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority, a large scale resuce and relief operation is underway in all flood affected areas of the province.
The National Disaster Management Authority has dispatched one thousand ration bags for flood affectees in Balochistan.
In a media release, the NDMA Spokesperson said these ration bags were provided by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre.
