Present government committed to promote higher education in the country: Mandviwalla
Islamabad, March 04, 2013 (PPI-OT): Senator Saleem H. Mandviwalla, Federal Minister for Finance said that the present democratic government is committed to promote higher education in the country.
HEC has been and will continue to enjoy full patronage and support of the government for continued provision of quality higher education to the nation. No stone will be left unturned to ensure progress in the field of higher education. He further stated that the government is very concerned about the issue of shortage of funds to universities.
The Finance Minister expressed these views while meeting with chairman Higher Education Commission who called on him to discuss various issues related to HEC including financial matters. Senator Saleem H Mandviwalla at the occasion said that all the necessary funds to overcome current financial problems being faced by various universities will be immediately released to HEC.
Chairman HEC thanked Finance Minister for his support for promotion of higher education in the country. He expressed his profound gratitude to the Finance Minister for immediate release of funds required by HEC for onward provision to universities across the country.
