President PCJCCI emphasizes need to have regular monthly meetings, inviting all stakeholders, to fast track the progress on Rashakhai Special Economic Zone
Lahore, September 17, 2020 (PPI-OT): Mr. Zarak Khan, President Pakistan China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry has emphasized the need to have regular monthly meetings, inviting all stakeholders, to fast track the progress on Rashakhai Special Economic Zone (RSEZ). Addressing an Economic Review meeting of his chamber today he said that establishment of Rashakai Special Economic Zone will play a pivotal role in Pakistan’s Economic Growth and will provide job opportunities for the people of remote areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The meeting was also attended by Senior Vice President Mr. Moazzam Ghurki, Secretary General Salahuddin Hanif and a number of the Executive Members of PCJCCI.
PCJCCI Chief appreciated the government to take practical initiatives to promote industrial investment in the country under CPEC in collaboration with China. He articulated that Rashakai Economic Zone (REZ) will serve as a bridging-post in northern areas of KPK and the Afghan Border. This project will also serve as a “Hub” for escalating the people to people trade relations in the region, he said adding that the location of this project is commendable as it will open up new vistas of development in marble processing, furniture, pharmaceuticals and many other sectors.
He pointed out that PCJCCI had always stressing upon the regional connectivity and bilateral trade among the friendly neighbours in the region and will now provide maximum support in making Rashakai Special Economic Zone (REZ) a success. The industries related to Fruit, Food, Packaging, Textile, Stitching, Knitting from China will, too, help in introducing and practicing the new contemporary techniques and innovative ideas in the area, PCJCCI President said.
Mr. Moazzam Ghurki, Senior Vice President PCJCCI said that, CPEC is one of the greatest agreements of Pakistan and such stratagems of “economic zones will lead to a prosperous and industrial Pakistan”. This new agreement will help in socioeconomic development of KPK with focus on ensuring participation of local people in all the development projects, he added.
Mr. Salahuddin Hanif, Secretary General PCJCCI said that, this agreement had provided the road map for the establishment of such a multipurpose economic zone in tripartite collaboration of the federal and provincial governments and the developers’ community of the region that will definitely help achieving the desired success of REZ operations.
