Process to renew “Black Book” would be completed this week: Acting Inspector General Police Punjab
Lahore, March 06, 2013 (PPI-OT): Acting Inspector General of Police Punjab Khan Baig expressed these view while addressing a ceremony held to distribute head-money among the policemen at the Central Police Office Lahore today.
Additional-IG (Investigations) Punjab Naseem-ul-Zaman Siddiqui, DIG (Investigations) Mahar Khudadad Lak, and SP (Investigations) Dr Abid were also present on this occasion.
Khan Baig further said that a proposal is under serious consideration in order to distribute head-money cash among the police officers/officials in the Police Darbars at the Regional level in the future.
The purpose of this initiative is to acknowledge the bravery and courageousness of the police officers/officials in the regions.
The police officers/officials who put their lives at risk in arresting the desperate criminals to save the lives and property of the citizens, should be acknowledged, the IGP added.
The IGP distributed cash awards worth Rs 8.4 millions among the 129 police officers/officials including one informer, who managed to arrest 17 hardened criminals during the operations.
At least eight police officers were also given commendatory certificates for their outstanding work during the ceremony.
The arrested Proclaimed Offenders belonged to Lahore, Jehlum, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Hafizabada, Sialkot, DG Khan, Muzaffar Garh, Bahawalnagar and Sahiwal districts.
The IGP awarded Rs 100,000 cash prize to SP City Gujranwala Capt (retd) Liaqat, who arrested Proclaimed Offender Riasat Ali during his posting in Lahore as SP CIA.
Lahore SP (Operations) Multan Khan was also awarded Rs 90,000 cash prize for arresting one criminal, Muhammad Arshad, who was declared as Proclaimed Offender in the Sheikhupura district.
