Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has announced immediate suspension of advertisements for the channel that terminated 170 employees. He was addressing the National Assembly following a meeting with journalists who had staged a walkout from the Press Gallery. According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister stated that the management of the TV channel, which has failed to pay salaries for the past three months, has been summoned to Islamabad to address the issue. He expressed gratitude to the media for ending their walkout and emphasized that the protection of media workers is a top priority. Earlier, on the floor of the House, the Minister reaffirmed the government's commitment to resolving matters related to journalists' job security and benefits. Attaullah Tarar assured that issues concerning journalists will be addressed in consultation with coalition partners and the opposition.
