Lahore: Punjab Cabinet members, Special Assistants, and Parliamentary Secretaries will donate their two months' salaries to the Prime Minister's Austerity Fund.
According to Radio Pakistan, the decision was taken during a Provincial Cabinet meeting conducted via video link. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and took place in Lahore.
The cabinet also approved the provision of land for the establishment of the Mian Nawaz Sharif University of Engineering and Technology in Kasur. Additionally, they sanctioned the charter of the Quaid-e-Azam Institute of Sciences in Sargodha, a cyber-security project scheme, and the construction of a sports complex in Kundian.
Further approvals included the creation of 137 posts for the Provincial Intelligence Fusion and Threat Assessment Centre. The cabinet also gave the green light for the completion of Sheikh Zayed II Teaching Hospital in Rahim Yar Khan.
Moreover, the cabinet approved the Punjab Policy on Narcotics Cases 2025 and the Punjab Criminal Prosecution Services Rules.
