Punjab Cabinet reviews flood, rain situation in Lahore

Caretaker Punjab Minister for Information and Local Government Aamir Mir informed that meeting of provincial cabinet was held in Lahore on Sunday in which possible situation of flood due to rains are reviewed.

Addressing the news conference in Lahore today, he said that there is possible situation of flooding in the rivers. He said that twenty-two thousand cusecs water is passing through Shahdra in River Ravi.

He informed that the provincial cabinet has decided to issue a red alert due to the flood in Punjab. He informed that flood relief plan has been prepared. He said that if there is more rain in India then there are chances of possible flooding in River Ravi and Satluj.

He said that the illegal population around River Ravi has the threat of flooding. He said that the illegal population around the river will be evacuated within 48 hours.
