Punjab CM vows to protect farmers’ rights

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that the government has protected rights of farmers by increasing the support price of wheat and sugarcane.

In a statement, he said that support price of wheat has been fixed at 1365 rupees per maund and sugarcane at 190 rupees per maund.

Sardar Usman Buzdar said the government will try its level best to ensure protection of rights of farmers.

He said the increase in the support prices will help farmers get their due share from the market.

In another statement, Usman Ahmed Buzdar said in the first phase of Naya Pakistan Manzlain Aasan, construction of 1236km long roads in rural areas is being completed by the end of next month.

He said second phase of this program will begin from January next year.

The Chief Minister said the program will continue for five years, during which all roads in rural areas will be carpeted.
