Hong Kong: Minister for Maritime Affairs Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh has extended an invitation to international shipping companies to invest in Pakistan. Speaking at the Global Maritime Trade Summit in Hong Kong, he highlighted the strategic advantages and upcoming incentives aimed at attracting foreign investors to the country’s maritime sector.
According to Radio Pakistan, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh announced plans for a new maritime policy that promises tax exemptions and other incentives for foreign investors. He emphasized Pakistan’s prime geographical location, which facilitates the easy transportation of goods to major markets including China, Central Asian countries, and the Middle East.
The Minister also provided updates on the progress at the Gwadar Port, indicating that it is on the verge of becoming fully operational. He noted that the federal cabinet has mandated that fifty percent of the nation’s trade should pass through this crucial port. The Gwadar Port is seen as a pivotal hub for enhancing trade with C
