Pakistan Railways is all set to procure two hundred and thirty passenger coaches and eight hundred and twenty High Capacity Wagons under the Public Sector Development Programme to improve the speed of the trains and ensure adherence to fixed timings. According to a spokesman of Ministry of Railways, measures are being taken to complete rehabilitation and reconstruction work on the railway track along with improving the speed of the locomotives to carry passengers to their respective destinations on time. He said Pakistan Railways is making hectic efforts to improve speed up to one hundred and sixty kilometers per hour in the project of up-gradation of ML-I under the China-Pak Economic Corridor.
