Rains and calamity stricken people shall be provided all possible help: Halim Adil Sheikh
Karachi, June 29, 2012 (PPI-OT): Haleem Adil Shaikh Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh for Relief has said that the rains and calamity stricken people shall be provided with all possible help. The work of distribution of food and non-food relief items in the affected areas shall be done by the volunteers of humanitarians’ cell of relief department in most suitable way.
In the upcoming monsoon rains, negligence by the officers after issuing instructions issued by the Relief Department shall not be tolerated and it will be treated as criminal negligence. In the rehabilitation work by the government, cooperation and support of the public is very crucial and without their involvement and support work would remain incomplete.
He said that twelve thousand tents and other relief items have been sent to the various districts so that in time of emergency timely assistance may be provided to the affectees. (All the deputy commissioners have been accordingly assured in this regard. Strong relief providing organizations, efficient and youth engaged in research should come forward to support and strengthen our hands).
Haleem Adil Sheikh urging on the stakeholders, humanitarians and NGOs has said that it is a time to correct our past lapses by doing good for the people vulnerable to calamities through our united efforts and strengthen their support in the ensuing monsoon.
