Ramzan Package worth Rs. 2.2 billion will be launched by the end of July 2011: Chaudhry Parvez Elahi
Islamabad: President Pakistan Muslim League, Ch. Shujaat Hussain, Senior Federal Minister Ch. Parvez Elahi and Advisor to Prime Minister on Industries Mohammad Basharat Raja, today attended a briefing of Utility Stores Corporation on proposed Ramzan Package.
Ch. Shujaat Hussain emphasized on providing maximum relief to masses by ensuring the provision of basic commodities on cheaper rates at Utility Stores. He further said that during Ramzan, USC should facilitate people to the extent as much as possible.
The Senior Federal Minister Ch. Parvez Elahi directed the Managing Director USC to increase the quantum of subsidy as provided last year. He directed to enhance the list of subsidized items, so that more and more commodities should experience the lowered prices. In addition to it, the supply and availability of commodities to all Utility Stores at cheaper rates need to be ensured, he reiterated. The Senior Minister said that the Ramzan Package will be launched by the end of July.
Earlier, MD USC, while briefing the participants on the proposed Ramzan Package, assured that USC will try its level best to provide maximum relief to people. In this regard, he presented his proposals and accommodations. On this occasion, Secretary Industries Aziz Ahmed Bilour, Additional Secretary Agha Nadeem and other high officials of the ministry also attended the briefing.
