Regional Police Officers conference held at Police Headquarters
Lahore: In order to bring down the crime rate and to maintain the law and order in the province, an important RPOs conference held at Police Headquarters, Punjab, here today under the chairmanship of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Javed Iqbal.
CCPO Lahore Ahmad Raza Tahir, RPO Multan Mubarrak Ali Athar, RPO Gujranwala Ahmad Mubarrak Ahmad, RPO Faisalabad Aftab Ahmad Cheem, RPO Sahiwal Khaliq Dad Lak, RPO Shiekhupura Dr. Arif Mushtaq Ch, RPO Bahawalpur Syed Mohammad Abid Qadri, DIG Operations, Punjab, Sohail Ahmad Khan and PSO to IGP Fayyaz Ahmad Dev attended the meeting.
The Provincial Police Chief stressed upon the officers to focus on controlling crime and adopt organized measures to protect the lives and properties of the masses. IGP further directed the RPOs that they should prepare an effective strategy that must be implemented in letter and spirit in order to eliminate terrorism / crimes and to improve law and order situation in the province.
He also directed the Field Police Officers to enhance the image of police by providing free, fair and quick justice to the people, eradication of crimes and also by ensuring safety of the people in their respective areas.
Later, CCPO Lahore and all RPOs briefed the IGP about the cases of kidnapping for ransom, robbery, dacoity cum murder registered in their regions along with the arrests of Proclaimed Offenders, their prosecution and convictions. It was also decided in the conference that the monitoring of the 4th Schedule will be done on regular basis.
Moreover, the impediments in deliverance of official duties by police officers/officials and working environment of police department was also discussed in detail in the conference.
Keeping in view the positive outcome relating to timely redressal of the public complaints and crime reduction it was decided that RPO’s conferences would be continued as a regular feature.
