Resolving public complaints to be top priority of police
Islamabad: Police has prime responsibility to serve the citizens and every official must accord priority to resolve public complaints through ensuring merit and transparent investigation into the cases.
It was stated by SP Saddar Dr. Khurram Rasheed during a meeting with the SDPOs of his circle including ASP Margallah Circle Rizwan Umer Gondal, DSP Sadar Circle Malik Tahir Mehmud.
He asked the police officials to make Security and Vigilance Committees more effective and ensure arrest of proclaimed offenders and other anti-social elements on priority basis, after complete co-ordination with the masses.
SP Dr. Khurram Rasheed reviewed the performance of SHOs of police stations in Saddar Zone and directed Circle In-charges to dispose of under-investigation cases at the earliest.
He also directed to ensure arrest of proclaimed offenders while ensuring registration of cases without any delay at the police stations.
The SP said that it was the prime responsibility of the cops to ensure protection to the lives and property of the masses and activities of anti-social elements should be curbed for relief to the masses.
The SP urged all the officials to work with honesty and strictly warned that those involved in corrupt practices would not be spared.
The SP said that corruption would not be tolerated in the police department and objective to make Islamabad police corruption free would be achieved at every cost.
He also asked the police officials to fix timings for listening to the complaints of the citizens in their offices and provide assistance to them on merit. “Policing is a service oriented job and every police official must serve the humanity with devotion,” the SP Saddar maintained.
He said that incidents of terrorism have been controlled in the Capital due to the hard work of police officials and such kind of efforts must be emulated in curbing the criminal activities too.
He also directed police officials for strict monitoring of the sluggish and corrupt cops and inform high ups for their involvement in any kind of such activities.
“Facilitate your subordinates in performing official duties and provide them necessary things whether they are on duty at police stations or police pickets,” he directed
The SP Saddar also directed the police officials to brief their subordinates for effective policing and ensure strict checking of hotels, inn and restaurants in their areas.
The IGP appreciated the efforts and achievements on the part of ATA in the enhancement of capacity building of the law enforcement agencies and hoped for continuing assistance in future.
