Restoration of peace, provision of civil amenities in Khyber Agency, Bara are top priorities: Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi
Islamabad, February 07, 2013 (PPI-OT): The Chairman IPO-Pakistan and Member National Assembly from FATA Mr. Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi has said that restoration of peace and provision of civil amenities of life in Khyber Agency, Bara are top priorities, tribals were living in miserable conditions due to operations and imposition of curfew in commercial and residential tribal areas. Despite of all discrepancies, no stone would be leave unturned to get funds for the up-lift of backward and less developed areas of the FATA.
This was stated by Mr. Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi while talking to a delegation of tribals who called on him at Islamabad on Thursday in connection with problems and other relevant issues of their areas. Mr. Afridi said that regardless, financial crunch in the country, adequate development funds had been spent on development schemes however, special package is still required to bring Khyber Agency, Bara at par with developed areas of the country.
Referring to the grievances of tribals, Mr. Afridi said that people belonging to all tribal agencies are contributing in all spheres of life. He informed the delegation about recently constitution of Aman Jirga with consultation of tribal elders. The Aman Jigra will contribute for starting consultation with respect to stop military operation and create affective grounds to establish normal life in tribal areas.
The names of Aman Jirga members have finalized and Jirga would call on Governor KPK and other high-ups to start peace dialogues for restoration of normal condition in disturbed areas of FATA. Delegation members apprised about the miseries of IDPs who are compelled to live in camps where they have been facing food shortage and other related facilities.
Mr. Afridi assured that the matter has been already taken up with the concerned authorities and it has been reiterated that ration quota may be increased in accordance with the number of IDPs.
