Rs 5 billion allocated for the development and rehabilitation of flood hit Jacobabad
Jacobabad, July 07, 2012 (PPI-OT): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that five billion rupees have been allocated for the development and rehabilitation of flood hit Jacobabad district. This he said while heading the meeting along with his cabinet with notables, traders, officers and party office bearers of Jacobabad district, Chief Minister Sindh said that this is the first time in history of Sindh that a ministerial meeting is held in any district head quarter and such meetings would continue to be held in future in other districts.
He said that this meeting is held on special directives of the President Asif Ali Zardari to resolve the problems and issues of downtrodden and poor people of this remote district.
Sindh Chief Minister said that sixteen districts and seven million people were affected due to flood of 2010.Accordiong to the world bank and asian development bank province faced billions of rupees loss and Jacobabad and Thatta were the most affected districts.He said that Sindh Government with the help of federal government released first installment of Wattan card among 7 lac affected people and still five billion rupees have not been received from the federal government.
Chief Minister Sindh said that survey for the second installment of 40 thousand of rupees of watan card is in process and 2 lacs 46 thousand people will receive watan card. Eligible of the watan card will be the head of the family. Chief Minister sindh said that there were many complains of shortage of water and few days ago sindh faced 50 to 70 percent shortage of water due to unpredictable weather and ice was melting slowly.
CM sindh Syed Kaim Ali shah said that the water will be provide to the cultivators of tail of BS feeder and Begari canal with in four days and for the judicious distribution of water, police and rangers are directed to look after the regulators and channels. CM sindh further said that lining of small canals and minors will be carried out in the district Jacobabad and Thul distributori /Soan waah will be lined and.
CM sindh said that for releasing of the watan card reassessment and survey have been ordered to the authorities of the Jacobabad, shikarpur and kandkot kashmore districts to enlist the disserving flood effected peoples he said that this matter will be brought out before the council of common interest (CCI) so that maximum numbers of effected peoples can receive the watan card.
CM sindh said that construction of road will be started along with the right bank of the Begari canal which is 78 miles in length he further said that small growers of Jacobabad will be awarded with long without interest for the cultivation through the sindh bank which will be open soon in Jackabad.
CM Sindh speaking about the law and order situation and violation against hindu community and the kidnapping of their women he said that law will be passed in sindh assembly to protect the community he directed the new SSP Mohammad younis chandio to ensure the law and order situation in Jacobabad.
CM sindh said with the package of 5 billion rupees 35 RO plants of clean water will be installed in Jacobabad and Thul and civil hospital Jacobabad will be upgraded with cost 88 corers .6 cores will be estimated for the new materials of the education department.
CM sindh said that president Asif Ali zardari has announced cadet college in Jacobabad which will be constructed with the amount of 50 corers rupees and new college will be constructed in Ghari khairo.
Before this chief minister sindh held the meeting with growers traders and the leaders of the hindu panchayat and PPP office bearers of district Jacobabad meeting was attended by cabinet members federal minister Mir Hazar khan Bijarani, provincial minister of local govt Agha Siraj Durrani,provincial minister information Sharjeel Inam memon ,revenue ministerJam Mehtab Dahar ,law and jails minister Muhammad Ayaz soomro ,excise minister Mukesh chawla,housing and anti narcotics minister Taimour khan pathan ,irrigation minister Jam Saifulah dharejo ,rehabilitation minister Haji Muzafar shujra MPAs of Jacobabad Ayesha khoso,Ghulam Muhammad shelayani ,and information secretary Qazi shahid pervez and other secretaries of different provincial departments.
