Seminar on Alternative Investment Opportunities in Pakistan held
Karachi: Commecs Institute of Business and Emerging Sciences (CIBES) and KASB Securities ventured an educational Seminar on “Alternative Investment Opportunities in Pakistan” on CIBES City Campus Shahra e Faisal, Karachi, recently.
This Seminar aimed to cover the main topics of the basic concepts of stock and investment, the myths and the realities of investing and how to approach investing. Special emphasis laid on the new emerging commodity exchange market in which people could invest in commodities like gold, silver and oil.
Capital markets, commodities, the portfolio mix approach were explained and the value of professional advice was underlined.
The seminar was moderated by Hafsa Farooqa Student of BBA IV of CIBES with Sumair Abro from the securities sector. The main speakers were Mustafa Sattar, Head of Commodities and Imtiaz Gadar, Head of Equity Research and Business Development.
The Commecs Director Arif Dossal, Director QEC and Research Rafique A. Khan, Deputy Director and Registrar Yousuf Khan along with the faculty, staff and students of CIBES participated in this seminar. A large number of guests from industry were also present in this seminar.
The audience actively participated in a Question Answer session after the details were delivered by the speakers. At the end Arif Dossal and Yousuf Khan thanked to team of experts and all the participants for their interest and association with CIBES.
The audience expressed satisfaction that they had acquired greater knowledge and the discourse had corrected their many concepts about Stock and Commodities. The Commecs Management reiterated that such informal but directed efforts would be continued to create “out-of-the-box” learning for its students enabling them to get the professional edge needed to take them successfully towards their careers.
