Lahore: Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry has stated that the sentences in the May 9 cases were delivered based on evidence and facts. In a televised message, he strongly refuted claims that the verdicts were politically motivated.
According to Radio Pakistan, Chaudhry expressed profound regret over the events of May 9, highlighting that a political party incited unprecedented chaos in Pakistan’s history on that day. He detailed the incidents, mentioning that police stations, Jinnah House, and numerous public and private properties were set ablaze in Lahore.
Chaudhry emphasized that there is substantial evidence, including video footage and statements from PTI leaders, linking them to the incidents. He further mentioned that the planning of the May 9 events occurred at the homes of PTI leaders.
