Sheikh Mohammad says that all out efforts would be made to promote and consolidate existing technical education and vocational training system
Lahore, July 11, 2012 (PPI-OT): The newly appointed President of TEVTA District Board of Management and LCCI former Senior Vice President Sheikh Mohammad Arshad has that that all out efforts would be made to promote and consolidate the existing technical education and vocational training system in the province.
He expressed these views while presiding over the first TEVTA Board meeting here at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Wednesday. The members of the newly constituted Board including Faheemur Rehman, Ahmad Husnain, Raees A sheikh, Hasnain Reza Mirza, Syed Mehmood Ghaznvi and Mian Asim Aziz also attended the meeting.
Sheikh Mohammad Arshad said that since all the Board members belong to various segments of the economy therefore their experience would be utilized to turn the TEVTA into an institution that would be providing demand-driven technical education and vocational training.
He said that in consultation with the TEVTA Chairman, a new methodology would be developed to upgrade existing TEVTA network to the benefit of trade and industry.
Sheikh Arshad said that the local entrepreneurs help would be sought to provide on-the-job training facilities and employment to the TEVTA graduates.
He urged the board members to design projects keeping in view the local as well as foreign manpower training requirements so that the same could be forwarded to the Chairman for implementation.
He also sought the help of the Board for need-based short courses in the sector of new technologies to the Industry.
