Islamabad: Sialkot and Hyderabad, the two new franchises, have been added to the 11th edition of HBL Pakistan Super League. OZ Developers and FKS Group successfully secured the Sialkot and Hyderabad teams with bids of 1.85 billion rupees and 1.75 billion rupees, respectively, during the PSL auction ceremony held in Islamabad.
According to Radio Pakistan, the current teams of the PSL include Lahore Qalandars, Islamabad United, Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators, Karachi Kings, and Multan Sultans. The addition of Sialkot and Hyderabad marks a significant expansion in the league's history.
The auction witnessed participation from several notable bidders including FKS, OZ Developers, Aim Next Inc, Deharki Sugar Mills, Inverex Solar, i2c, Jazz, Prism Developers, VGO TEL, and Walee Pakistan. This competitive event highlighted the growing interest and investment in Pakistan's premier cricket league.
Prominent figures such as Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board Mohsin Naqvi, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry were present at the ceremony, underscoring the event's importance.
