Speaker Turkish Grand National Assembly to arrive Islamabad on July 17

Islamabad, July 16, 2012 (PPI-OT): Speaker of the Grant National Assembly of Turkey Mr. Cemil Cicek will arrive, Islamabad on 17th July, 2012 on a three-day state visit to Pakistan. He will be accompanied by a four Member parliamentary delegation comprising members of the Grand Turkish National Assembly.

The Turkish Speaker is visiting Pakistan on the invitation of Dr. Fehmida Mirza. This visit will be the first-ever official visit by a Turk Speaker after a long period. The visit is aimed to further cement the existing ties and future cooperation between the two parliaments. This visit also carries a special significance for both Pakistan and Turkey since both the brotherly countries have exceptional ties.

The Turkish Parliamentary Delegation will be received at Islamabad Airport by a senior Parliamentarian and senior officials of the National Assembly of Pakistan. Formal welcome ceremony for the distinguished guests will be held at Parliament House on Wednesday morning when the Turkish Speaker arrives there to meet Dr. Fehmida Mirza.

The one-to-one meeting of both the Speakers will be preceded by tree plantation ceremony. During his visit, the Speaker Grant Turkish National Assembly besides meeting with Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf will also meet Chairman Senate Syed Nayyar Hussain Bokhari.
