Steps being taken to mainstream Gilgit-Baltistan: President
President Dr Arif Alvi has said steps are being taken to mainstream Gilgit-Baltistan and funds will soon be provided for provision of 4-G internet facility.
Talking to newly elected members of the GB Legislative Assembly in Islamabad today (Thursday), he said the region possesses abundance of natural beauty and there is a need to take measures for the promotion of tourism in the area.
The President said basic infrastructure will be constructed in the areas to remove hurdles in the way of online education.
He said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will benefit economy of the GB besides, positive impact of the regional trade and Gwadar Port.
He said capacity of Karakorum Highway should be increased to enhance trade.
He said development of education and the health sectors is vital for the prosperity of Gilgit-Baltistan.
