Students urged to opt for reading, creating new knowledge
Lahore: Crescent Model Higher School, Shadman Colony Lahore organized a prize distribution ceremony here on Friday. Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran presided over the ceremony while Chief Editor Daily Nation Majid Nizami, Chairman Crescent Education Trust Mian Muhammad Rafi, Secretary Zaheer A Sheikh, Advisor Shaukat Sultan, School Principal Muhammad Shakoor, teachers and a large number of students were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the ceremony, VC Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran asked the students to do their work with sincerity, hard work and commitment. He said it was according to nature’s law that a lion eats a deer and same rule also applied on human beings. A strong nation occupies a weak nation for its wealth. The nation is always dominant who studied the mysteries of universe and create new knowledge.
He said knowledge was the headspring of wealth and power but unfortunately our governments did not focus on this. The governments must patronize education and allocated at least four percent of its GDP for education. Lack of education was the root cause of all problems and issues in the country. He advised the students to do PhD in their subjects.
Earlier, School Principal Muhammad Shakoor presented the annual performance report of the school.
Later, VC Dr Mujahid Kamran gave away prizes and trophies to the students showing excellent performance. He also visited the physics, chemistry, art gallery, botany lab, science museum, art and Pakistan studies exhibitions where students displayed their work. The Vice-Chancellor much appreciated the skills of the students.
