Sudan PM Hamdok to begin Brussels visit today
Sudanese Prime Minister Dr. Abdalla Hamdok headed to Brussels on Sunday morning, leading a high-level delegation, on a visit to the Kingdom of Belgium at the invitation of the European Union leadership.
Sudan embassy’s Acting Charge d’Affaires in Belgium Hamid Al-Jazouli said in a press statement that the prime minister will meet with EU senior officials in Brussels, adding that he will also brief the EU’s Foreign Affairs Council on the political developments in Sudan, the efforts to achieve comprehensive and just peace in the country, and the government’s vision to lead the transitional period.
Al-Jazouli said that the visit came at an important and crucial stage in Sudan’s history after the success of the glorious December Revolution and the formation of the transitional period institutions. He pointed out that the EU remained a key supporter of the process of change in Sudan, through statements issued by the bloc’s various institutions in support of the December Revolution.
Prime Minister Hamdok is accompanied by a delegation comprising Minister of Industry and Trade Madani Abbas Madani, Minister of Labor and Social Development Lena el-Sheikh, and the Planning Undersecretary at the Ministry of Finance and Economy.
