Khartoum (UNA-OIC) Sudanese Foreign Minister Prof. Ibrahim Ghandour met here on Wednesday with UN Special Envoy for Sudan and South Sudan Nicholas Haysom and discussed ways to revive negotiation process with the parties rejecting to join the national dialogue to realize inclusive peace in Sudan.

Ghandour affirmed Sudan commitment to working for the achievement of comprehensive peace in the country based on the agreed principles and the outcome of government-led national dialogue and the political settlement. He said that only a few parties refused to join the dialogue.

For his part, Haysom expressed his appreciation of the Republican Decree issued by President Omar al-Bashir on the unilateral extension of the ceasefire in war zones for another three months, a matter which affirms Sudan government’s seriousness to reach a lasting peace.
