Syed Aun Abbas selected as Chief Executive of Information and Communication Technology’s Research and Development Fund
Islamabad: The meeting of the Board of Directors of ICT’s R and D Fund chaired by the Prime Minister approved the appointment of Syed Aun Abbas as CEO ICT R and D.
The selection was made out of four members panel by the Board after scrutiny / interview of 193 candidates by the Board’s Interview Committee.
Syed Aun Abbas has a twenty three years overlapping experience in Industry and academia since Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering. He holds PhD and Masters in Electrical Engineering from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada. He has worked as CEO, Palm Chip Pakistan (Pvt) Limited/Teleware System (Pvt) Limited Lahore, Advisor for standardization in Nortel Networks, Ottawa , Canada and Advisor for Strategic R and D, LG Ericson, Ottawa , Canada .
Syed Aun Abbas has 11 research publications to his credit.
The Board decided that in case of Syed Aun Abbas inability to join as CEO then Mr. Iftikhar Mahmood would be considered for the post.
Mr. Iftikhar Mahmood has also a very vast experience in the field of System and electrical engineering. He is having MS System Engineering and MS electric Engineering degrees from Boston University , Boston Massachusetts , USA . He has rich experience of teaching the relevant engineering subjects in Pakistan Institute of Space Technology and College of Aeronautical Engineering, Risalpur where he worked as deputy director Electronic Warfare in Air Headquarters Islamabad.
