A special ceremony was held in honour of police martyrs and ghazis, families of 10 martyrs were awarded gold medals and 10 ghazis were awarded silver medals

Lahore, April 06, 2023 (PPI-OT):On the instructions of Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, departmental promotions from Constable to DSP rank are going on in Punjab Police and in this regard, 22 Legal Inspectors have been promoted to DSP positions while 47 Senior Clerks have been promoted to Assistant. IG Punjab invited the promoted legal inspectors to the office and honoured them along with senior officers by pinning the ranks of DSP.

Additional IG Establishment has also issued formal notification for senior clerks promoted to the post of Assistant. IG Punjab while addressing the promoted officers said that they should make the honor of the citizens and service to humanity as their motto so that they can achieve success in this world and the hereafter. He said that purpose of promotion is not to give personal gains to anyone but it is to highlight the importance of service to the people and protection of homeland among the employees.

Dr. Usman Anwar said that the second phase of departmental promotion is starting from April 10 in Central Police Office, Ranges, Districts and all units, during which the remaining officers and personnel eligible for promotion will be promoted as per merit and seniority.

IG Punjab directed that while treating the citizens with good manners, they should be sympathetic and helpful and receive prayers from the people. He emphasized that solving the problems of widows and orphans should be the first goal and spare no effort in providing justice to them.

IG Punjab also issued instructions in a special message to the force regarding departmental promotions.

In recognition of the eternal services of police martyrs and Ghazis, the series of honouring with medals continues on behalf of the Punjab Police. The ceremony organized in this regard, IG Punjab awarded gold medals to the families of 10 police martyrs and silver medals to 10 Ghazis.

The families of the martyrs who were given gold medals included the families of Sub-Inspectors Tajumal Hussain, Tahir Ashfaq, Ghulam Jaffar, ASI Muhammad Akram, Head Constable Muhammad Sarwar, Constables Waqas Ali, Amar Hussain, Muhammad Irfan and Muhammad Asif.

Similarly, DSP Kashif Dogar, Inspector Irfan Akbar, Sub-Inspector Farooq Azam, Head Constable Muhammad Abbas, Constable Ashfaq Ahmed, Naveed Ahmed, Saifullah, Yasir Jameel, Muhammad Naseer and Muhammad Tahir Shamal were among the Ghazis who received silver medals. IG Punjab said that in recognition of the eternal sacrifices and services of martyrs and Ghazis, the department is encouraging them with gold and silver medals.

Furthermore, IG Punjab encouraged the police officers and officials with cash prizes and certificates of appreciation for their excellent performance during duty.

IG Punjab awarded 97 officers and personnel of Lahore, Sheikhupura, Lodhran, Vehari, Rahim Yar Khan, Khanewal, Hafizabad and Bahawalpur with cash prize of more than 31 lacs and certificates of appreciation. 46 officers and personnel of Lahore Police were awarded 6 lakh 60 thousand rupees in cash and certificates of appreciation while in the rest of the regions and districts around 24 lakh 85 thousand were released.

Inspectors Hussain Farooq, Khuda Bakhsh, Abrar Haider, Sardar Muhammad Afzal were given 30,000 each in cash and CC1. SPs Investigation of Sheikhupura and Vehari, ASP Kabir Wala and DSP Legal CPO were given certificates of appreciation. One lakh to Inspector, 75 thousand to each Sub-Inspectors, 50,000 to the each ASI, 40,000 to each head constable and 25,000 to each constable along with commendation certificates were given.

The highest number of prizes were distributed among the constables and a total of 52 constables were encouraged with cash prizes and certificates of appreciation. DIG Headquarters Humayun Bashir Tarar and AIG Discipline Ahsan Saifullah and other officers were also present in the ceremony.

The crackdown against dangerous proclaimed offenders has been accelerated, 10 more proclaimed offenders from abroad were arrested

Lahore, April 06, 2023 (PPI-OT):Punjab Police has accelerated crackdown to arrest fugitive proclaimed offenders living abroad. In this regard, police teams have arrested 10 more proclaimed offenders involved in serious incidents of robbery, murder, kidnapping for ransom and paid murder from Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Muscat and Greece.

During the crackdown that started on January 24, the police teams have so far arrested 28 proclaimed offenders from abroad involved in serious cases like robbery, dacoity, murder, attempted murder, kidnapping for ransom and paid murder.

According to the details, Narowal police arrested three wanted POs namely Akif Hameed from Dubai, Zaheer from Muscat and Yasir from Greece. Dera Ghazi Khan police arrested three wanted proclaimed offenders Ghulam Fareed, Muhammad Asghar from United Arab Emirates and Zafar Iqbal from Saudi Arabia.

Two proclaimed offenders wanted by Multan Police, Muhammad Mujahid, was arrested from Saudi Arabia, while Muhammad Waseem was arrested from the United Arab Emirates. Likewise, proclaimed offender of Sialkot police Tayyab Ali and proclaimed offender of Attock police namely Ibadat were arrested from United Arab Emirates.

IG Punjab gave Shabash to all the police teams who arrested the absconding proclaimed offenders abroad. Additional IG Investigation Punjab Sultan Ahmad Chaudhry said that on the direction of IG Punjab, arrests of proclaimed offenders abroad with the cooperation of Punjab Police Interpol and FIA have been accelerated, along with the cancellation of passports of proclaimed offenders abroad, red notices of Interpol are being issued so that they can be arrested and punished.

Additional IG Investigation Punjab Sultan Ahmad Chaudhry said that the police teams in all the districts are in touch with the plaintiffs of the cases and the ongoing grand operation has been expedited to arrest the proclaimed offenders inside and outside the country. He said that the RPOs and DPOs are monitoring the ongoing crackdown to arrest the proclaimed offenders and they will be arrested and brought to justice as soon as possible.

He said that cases related to proclaimed offenders are being continuously followed up by the monitoring teams at the Investigation Punjab headquarters so that the circle against these social evils can be further tightened.

IG Punjab visited Shaheed Ahmed Mubeen Police lines Manawan, addressed the traffic wardens in Darbar

Lahore, April 06, 2023 (PPI-OT):Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has said that Traffic Wardens serving on roads are the true face of Punjab Police who represent the police department in the field with their behaviour and professionalism. IG Punjab directed that all the wardens should fulfil their duties of serving and protecting citizens honestly and for the convenience of citizens, the process of issuing driving license should be simplified.

Dr. Usman Anwar said that for departmental promotion, there will be an A-list exam on April 15 and B-list exam on April 23, while traffic wardens and other traffic staff with the best performance will be given prizes of 75 lacs rupees this week. IG Punjab said that the App developed to unite the missing children with their parents will play a special role, this app will contain the data of addresses of the missing children and other useful evidences including the mother’s DNA sample.

IG Punjab said that in order to speed up the process of departmental promotions of wardens, the government has approved the summary of increasing the seats of senior wardens, with the approval of these new seats, the long-standing problem of departmental promotion of Lahore traffic police personnel will be solved. IG Punjab expressed these views while speaking at the traffic police Darbar on the occasion of his visit at Shaheed Ahmed Mubeen Police Lines.

IG Punjab while giving instructions to the Wardens and Assistant Wardens at Lahore Traffic Police Darbar said that all the Wardens should adopt good and courteous behaviour and serve humanity as their motto and ensure compliance of laws by the citizens.

IG Punjab said that the best facilities should be provided to the citizens coming to the driving license center so that maximum people can get the license easily. IG Punjab met the children of traffic police martyrs and instructed the officers to continue taking measures for their best welfare. IG Punjab gave cash prizes and certificates of appreciation to the best performance wardens at Darbar.

IG Punjab also met the citizens who came to Manawan center to get their driving license and inquired about the facilities available to them. DIG SPU, Tayyab Hafeez Cheema, DIG Traffic Punjab Mirza Faran Baig, and CTO Lahore Captain (Rtd) Mustansar Firoz and other officers were also present on the occasion.

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar made a surprise visit to Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh Lahore, visited barracks and mess of lines and did Iftaar with the jawans

Lahore, April 05, 2023 (PPI-OT): Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has said that there is no difference between police command and constabulary, every possible welfare of the force is on top of my priorities. Dr. Usman Anwar said that police force especially constabulary is very close to my heart.

That’s why I keep in touch with them not only by telephone but also meet them whenever I get a chance to find out about their situation and problems. IG Punjab directed that refresher courses based on modern skills should be continued regularly for capacity building of personnel.

Dr. Usman Anwar directed SP Headquarters Qila Gujjar Singh to ensure monthly inspection of barracks and line mess. IG Punjab said that the menu of the police mess should be arranged according to the choice of the police jawans while healthy constructive activities for the jawans should also be continued regularly. He expressed these views today while talking to officers and jawans on the occasion of a surprise visit to Police Lines Qila Gujar Singh. IG Punjab did iftaar with personnel at Police Lines Mess.

Dr. Usman Anwar visited barracks and mess of the lines and inquired about the food and other facilities provided to the jawans. IG Punjab directed that the quality of food should be further improved as per the rules of hygiene. IG Punjab also reviewed the living facilities of the jawans during the inspection of the barracks. He directed that quality facilities and training environment should be provided to the personnel living and under training in police lines.

IG Punjab took a plausible step, directed to release the last payslip one month before retirement for the welfare of police employees

Lahore, April 05, 2023 (PPI-OT):Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has been taking priority measures for the welfare of the police force and in this regard, steps have been taken to facilitate the officers and personnel who retired from the department after completing their professional service. IG Punjab has directed to release the last payslip of the employees who have completed their professional service one month before the date of retirement.

Dr. Usman Anwar said that by this provisional pay slip, the pension papers of the retiring employees will also be prepared without delay and it will be possible to eliminate the procrastination in the payment of dues to the employees on retirement and the issuance of pension.

IG Punjab said that special care should be taken for the convenience of the officers and officials who are retiring from the department after completing their professional service. He instructed all the RPOs, CPOs, DPOs and Heads of Units to comply with the above instructions and said that the timely release of pension of retired employees should be ensured in all cases while at the same time all possible support should be provided to them in preparation of papers.

Dr. Usman Anwar said that if any police employee is facing any problem in this regard, he can contact me directly by calling 1787 Complaint Center. In case of negligence, strict accountability along with legal and departmental action will be ensured. On the direction of IG Punjab, AIG Admin and Security has sent a letter to all unit heads including RPOs, CPOs and DPOs of the province.

IG Punjab distributed cash awards of around 11 lacs and certificates of appreciation to 56 officers and officials of Lahore Police for their excellent performance

Lahore, April 04, 2023 (PPI-OT):Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has instructed the police force to perform their duties with full determination, sincerity and spirit of jihad for protection and service of lives and property of citizens. IG Punjab said that be a wall against those oppressors who attack the life, property and honour of aggrieved, orphans, widows and the weak and ensure strict legal action against such heartless anti-social elements. IG Punjab emphasised upon that no effort should be spared for taking such callous criminals to their end.

Dr. Usman Anwar said to listen to the problem of every person who comes to the police station with good manners and attention and to make a contact of sympathetic lawyer with victims of civil matters so that their problems can be resolved. IG Punjab said to provide help, support and guidance to the citizens suffering from difficulties and crimes because by solving the problems of the citizens with our power and authority we can make this world beautiful and the world hereafter.

Dr. Usman Anwar said that prizes of eight crores are being distributed to the best performing officers and personnel in all the districts of the province into phases and whoever will perform well will be encouraged at all levels. IG Punjab expressed these views while addressing the best performing officers and officials of Lahore Police in a ceremony organized at the Central Police Office today.

According to the details, Dr. Usman Anwar distributed awards and appreciation certificates worth about 11 lakhs to 56 officers and officials of Lahore Police in the ceremony held at the Central Police Office. In these teams, officers serving in CIA, Investigation and other fields were included.

Inspectors were given 30 thousand, Sub-Inspectors were given 25 thousand, ASIs were given 20 thousand, Head Constables were given 15 thousand while Constables were given 10,000 per person along with ceremonial certificates. IG Punjab awarded CIA team with cash reward and certificates of appreciation for arresting the murderer of retired SP Farhat Abbas.

Similarly, other officers and officials were also awarded for tracing and arresting the suspects of robbery, dacoity, murder, kidnapping and other serious incidents. IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar directed the awarded officers and officials to perform their duties more diligently, honesty and hard work. Plausible initiative of IG Punjab for promotion of traffic wardens, summary for 506 new posts of senior wardens has been sent to Punjab Government

Lahore, April 04, 2023 (PPI-OT):Inspector General Police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar has said that departmental promotion as per merit and seniority is the basic right of every police officer and official which they will get in any case. IG Punjab has taken a positive step to resolve the long-standing issue of promotion of Traffic Wardens and has sent the summary of 506 new posts of Senior Traffic Wardens to the Government of Punjab for approval.

According to the details, hundreds of wardens serving in major districts of the province, including the provincial capital Lahore, will be promoted to the next scale. 271 wardens in Lahore, 90 in Rawalpindi, 75 in Faisalabad, 45 in Multan and 25 in Gujranwala will become senior traffic wardens while no additional expenses will be incurred on the government exchequer due to the abolishment of old vacant seats. IG Punjab said that paving the way for career promotion will boost the morale of all wardens and improve the traffic management across the province.

Dr Usman Anwar directed the traffic wardens to perform their duties more diligently than before and along with issuance of license, be courteous to the citizens on the roads and do not leave any effort in the smooth flow of traffic. Dr. Usman Anwar has signed the summary for the promotions of traffic wardens and has sent it to the Punjab government for approval. IG Punjab said that with the approval of the new posts, the service structure of the traffic wardens will be strengthened and they will ensure that they perform their duties with more hard work, diligence and dedication.

Lahore, April 04, 2023 (PPI-OT):Homeless and destitute children and youths deserving of social attention and support will be taken to the relevant institutions after registration in Police Protection Centers where they will be treated and rehabilitated. The police teams under the leadership of Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar are actively engaged to eradicate crimes and protect the lives and property of citizens across the province.

Under the supervision of RPOs, CPOs and DPOs, the crackdown against habitual and professional criminals and anti-social elements is underway, in which thousands of criminals have been arrested and imprisoned, while at the same time stolen property worth crores of rupees and hundreds of stolen motorcycles and vehicles have also been recovered and handed over to their owners.

According to the details, during the last 70 days, the teams of Punjab Police arrested more than 62 thousand proclaimed offenders in various crimes in the province, including 3300 of A category involved in other serious crimes i.e. murder, dacoity, robbery and kidnapping for ransom and 21332 criminals and proclaimed offenders involved in other various crimes.

Police teams arrested 965 dacoit gangs across the province and recovered more than Rs 72 crore worth of stolen property. 118 stolen vehicles and 1682 motorcycles were recovered from criminals in various incidents. Similarly, 7197 cases against drugs were registered across the province and 7344 accused were arrested while more than 3200 kg of drugs were recovered. CTD teams arrested 69 terrorists and miscreants in 301 intelligence-based operations. 4 dangerous terrorists met their logical end in the firing incidents at CTD.

Dacoits and criminals fired 139 times on the police in response to which 61 dacoits and bandits were killed. In the above incidents, 80 dangerous robbers, bandits and anti-social elements were rushed to the hospital with injuries. One policeman was martyred while 21 policemen were injured in such attacks by the miscreants. Police registered 26,989 FIRs, including 121 FIRs of dacoity, 10,289 FIRs of robbery and 16,579 FIRs of motor vehicle theft.

On the direction of IG Punjab, priority measures for the welfare of the force are underway and 2.2 billion rupees have been spent under various categories of welfare, including 662 million for medical expenses of police personnel, 286 million as wedding gifts and 253 million were given for educational scholarships, 30 million rupees for burial expenses, 133 million rupees for maintenance allowance and 85 million rupees were given for the last basic pay.

IG Punjab has directed to beef up security arrangements of mosques, Imambargahs and other sensitive religious places in connection with Ramadan. He directed that patrol teams of Dolphin, Peru should increase their patrolling plan and working hours.

On the direction of IG Punjab, a departmental promotion committee session was held at the Central Police Office, in which 15 senior scale stenographers were promoted to the rank of private secretary and one private secretary Abdul Qadir to the post of Assistant Director as per merit and seniority.

Among the senior scale stenographers promoted to the posts of private secretary are Rana Muhammad Akram Khan, Muhammad Ayub, Khalil Ahmed, Muhammad Aqeel and Muhammad Ibrahim, Syed Muhammad Salman, Asif Jilani, Wasim Saleem, Wasim Mehboob Alam, Muhammad Nadeem, Muhammad Shafiq, Muhammad Irfan Tahir, Syed Naveed Anjum Zaidi, Imtiaz Yusuf and Ghulam Fareed.

AIG Admin and Security Amara Athar issued notifications for promoted Stenographers and Assistant Director. IG Punjab has issued instructions to all RPOs, CPOs and DPOs to hold promotion board sessions regularly in their regions and districts and the ACRs of the employees whose ACRs are incomplete should be completed as soon as possible so that promotion eligible staff may be given their departmental right without delay.

He further said that notifications of those promoted in the Promotion Board Sessions should be sent to the Central Police Office at the earliest.

Furthermore, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has said that for the rehabilitation of helpless and homeless children and youth trapped in the mire of drugs addiction, preferential measures shall be taken from the platform of Punjab Police Protection Centers.

IG Punjab said that to provide medical aid and social security to these helpless children and youth, the Punjab Police and four private organizations working in this regard have agreed to take joint measures, through which homeless and helpless children and youth will be made useful citizens of the society through rehabilitation.

According to the details, IG Punjab and officers and heads of four institutions Ehsaas Rehabilitation Center, Aas Indus Rehab, Grace Rehab and Phonix Foundation for Research and Development signed the MoUs in a ceremony held at Central Police office.

The Punjab Police and the four institutions will work together to provide treatment and rehabilitation to children and youth trapped in the mire of addiction.

Dr. Usman Anwar said that these children and youth who deserve social attention and support will be brought to the relevant institutions after registration in the police protection centers where the doctors and experts of these institutions will rid the children and youth of the scourge of addiction and they will be made useful citizens by mutual efforts.

In the ceremony, SP Operations Model Town Lahore Amara Shirazi gave a presentation about the problems and situation of homeless children and youth trapped in the scourge of addiction.

Mohammad Nadeem Ashraf Chaudhry, CEO of Ehsaas Rehab Center while appreciating the project of Punjab Police said that this initiative of Punjab Police to rehabilitate homeless children and youth addicted to drugs is commendable.

Dr. Zafar Iqbal, Chairman Grace International Rehab Center, said that the future of hundreds of destitute children and youth is beginning to brighten the future of such children with these efforts at the public and private levels.

Dr Zahra Moazzam Provincial head AAas Rehab trust said that due to the measures taken under the MOUs, children and youth trapped in the quagmire of addiction will be saved from participating in the world of crime.

Dr. Noor-ul-Zaman Rafiq, Phonix Foundation for Research and Development, said that the protection centers of Punjab Police are leading to play a very effective role in community policing and the new project will also be an important milestone in the service of humanity.
